Got a Junk Car? Recycle It!

I have had the same car for the last 18 years. I didn't see the point in buying a new car if mine only needed minor repairs. However, recently my luck changed and my car had major engine problems. It didn't make sense to spend more on repairs than the car was worth. And likewise, no one would buy the car because it needed more in repairs than the car was worth. I had to decide what to do with the car. I had seen those signs saying they would buy junk cars, so I gave them the car. I was happy that I did. I created this website to answer the questions you may have about this process. Learn how the process works, how much you can expect and what paperwork you need to fill out to recycle an old junk car.

3 Tips For Saving Money While Living In Your Camper After Retirement

by Bernice Howell

If you are ready to see the country and live in your camper while doing so, your budget is probably going to be very important. Being able to pull into any campsite and spend a day or a week while you explore the area is undoubtedly one of life's best retirement perks. However, it's easy for expenses to quickly accrue. As a result, it's a good idea to use the following tips to help you save money while driving your home anywhere you want to be.

#1-Choose A State Of Legal Residency

As a retired individual, you are probably living on a fairly tight budget and if you plan to stay on the road for a long time, you will need to establish a state of legal residency. Many people choose to keep it as it was before retirement, especially if property is owned there.

However, you may want to re-consider that. If you have children or family members in other states with whom you could maintain an address, you may be able to save money by using their address for legal and registration purposes. Specifically, having an address in a state with no income tax can help you a lot in future years, especially if you do not plan to return to your home state in the foreseeable future. Alternatively, you will also find that there can be a significant difference from one state to another in the fees for registering your vehicles and campers

#2-Consider Using Solar Power

When you pull into a camp or RV site, you have probably noticed that there tend to be different fees based on the type of amenities you require. Although accessing a site with electricity may only cost a few extra dollars each time, at the end of the year the total can be shocking.

Fortunately, the solution is to either purchase a camper that already uses solar power or switch to it now. The initial cost of doing so is often much less than you might think, since the camper itself will not be very big. You can frequently offset those expenses fairly soon, since you will no longer be paying to use electricity at camp sites.

#3-Allow For Appropriate Portion Sizes

If you were used to grocery shopping once a week and maintaining a full refrigerator and pantry, living in a camper with less storage space can be an enormous adjustment. Alternatively, you probably know that buying items in bulk will often allow you to save money and it can be challenging to determine how both of those can work together.

The solution is to only buy items in bulk that are small or to work with other campers to buy in bulk and then divide the portions and costs appropriately. Specifically, you can still go to a wholesale club and buy laundry soap or paper products in bulk, as long as you can divide the cost and items amongst other campers. You will find that keeping more than a few days of perishables in your camper is challenging, since you may not have the full size refrigerator and freezer that you're used to. Smaller items, like soap, straws or candles can typically be purchased in bulk, as long as you make sure to allow adequate space for them.

In conclusion, living in your camper is a wonderful way to spend your retirement. Whether you want to see every state or simply spend extended periods of time with friends and family members who live far away, the above tips will help you to affordably enjoy your dream.
