Got a Junk Car? Recycle It!

I have had the same car for the last 18 years. I didn't see the point in buying a new car if mine only needed minor repairs. However, recently my luck changed and my car had major engine problems. It didn't make sense to spend more on repairs than the car was worth. And likewise, no one would buy the car because it needed more in repairs than the car was worth. I had to decide what to do with the car. I had seen those signs saying they would buy junk cars, so I gave them the car. I was happy that I did. I created this website to answer the questions you may have about this process. Learn how the process works, how much you can expect and what paperwork you need to fill out to recycle an old junk car.

3 Killer Off-Road Features Every 4X4 Pickup Truck Should Have

by Bernice Howell

When you are not the average driver, the terrain that you frequently find your way onto in your vehicle will be anything but average as well. This is why shopping for an off-road four-wheel-drive vehicle can be so much fun. If you want to make sure you get the biggest bang for your hard-earned bucks, there are at least three features you should be taking the time to look for on a tough off-road machine.

1. High-Grade Recovery Hooks - You may have one tough mudder on the off-road trails, but other drivers may not be so lucky, and there is always that slight chance that your truck could get bogged down in the mud. This is why having high-grade recovery hooks affixed on an off-road truck is so important. These hooks should be strong, but they should also be easy to access. Some automobiles that are supposedly designed for off-road use have recovery hooks somewhere underneath for aesthetic purposes, which would be practically impossible to get to if someone needed to hook up to you in the thick of things. You want those hooks to be perfectly visible and ready to go.

2. Hill Descent Control - It is definitely a possibility for you to manually control the speed that you are at when you are descending a steep incline, but who wants to spend the whole thrill ride down a slope adjusting gears and pumping the breaks. Hill descent control is actually not a new off-road feature, but it is now available in popular truck brands, such as the Chevrolet Silverado with the Z71 package. This valuable feature controls the rate the wheels turn when you are in descent, either forward or backwards, using the ABS system. When you have hill descent control, you get to set back and enjoy the ride more and focus more on navigation.

3. Under-Body Shielding - From jagged rocks to hefty brush, the undercarriage of your off-road truck can take a beating for sure. To protect vital components, such as the transfer case and other tranny components, it is crucial that the truck you choose has adequate under-body shielding. This can come in a wide range of forms, but in most cases, you will be looking for something tough and rugged, such as galvanized steel and titanium mesh.

Taking an off-road pickup truck from ordinary to full-on 4x4 monstrosity is all about making sure the vehicle has the right parts. Make sure that while you are on the lookout for your next big investment, you are paying careful attention to the features available. Contact a local dealer, like Grey Chevrolet Inc, to see what is available.
